Many of you might have heard of Tori Stafford.
She was an eight year old girl who lived in Woodstock, Ontario, Canada.
A month and a half ago she was kidnapped, and most likely murdered, by a young couple.
No one knew what happened to her when she was last seen leaving school with a woman. After that, no one saw her, and no one has seen her, for over a month. Finally, Police found a lead that led them to the two suspects. The woman has been 'helping' them try to find Tori's body, but so far no luck.
I only live about an hour away from where she used to live. They want everyone within a fifty minute radius to search their property for Tori's body.It has been four days since they started looking for the girl, and there has been no new evidence.
She was a beautiful little girl with bright blonde hair and pretty blue eyes. I don't understand how anyone could do that to a person, let alone an eight year old girl.
I hope they find her soon. My prayers are with her family.
Keep swimming, Staffords.

Oops?
So... um, I've been gone for like a month?
And I really wish I had a good explanation as to why, but in all honesty I don't.
What's new?
I went back to work. Yay.
And I laze around when I'm not at work. So my life has been pretty boring.
But, I did not write this to tell you how boring my life is, I'm writing this to rant. And because no one else will listen to me complain.
So, my parents have been divorced for just over 5 years now. I live with my mom, and my dad lives with his fiance... person. They've been engaged for almost 3 years now, and there doesn't seem to be a wedding in sight. I'm not at all upset about that.
But that is not what I'm here to complain about.
My sort-of-step-mom is a good person and so are two of her three children. Within the last month and a half, their beloved fat dog Gibson passed away. Everyone saw it coming, but it was still hard on them. Everyone cried, but me of course, but that's a topic for another time.
They have been talking about getting a new dog since pretty much the day after Gibby died. I had a big issue with that, but my sort-of-step-mom said that they were going to wait until the summer to get a new dog.
I guess it must be summer, because they got a new dog.
Now, as wonderful as this should be, I strongly disagree and I am not impressed at all.
They have no idea about how to properly care for an animal. And this puppy is totally a rebound from Gibson. You how when you break up with a person, you date the next living thing you are attracted to? That's kind of this situation.
A puppy is a lot more work than they think it is, and they are not ready for it.
It will not be trained properly. It will not be walked when it needs to. And it will be locked up most days because no one is ever home.
And you know why that puppy got adopted? Because my two little step sisters probably saw it and whined and begged and threw a hissyfit, so my sort-of-step-mom probably caved and said okay. The only reason she hesitated is because my dad probably gave her that look like "NO WAY!" But then she whined and he gave up. That was probably the scenario exactly. They are so predictable that way.
Anyway, that's my rant. They are great people, all three of them, but this was a dumb idea. And the problem is that I'm going to go over and fall in love with this puppy and forget all the reasons why it was a bad idea. So I figured I should write it down so that I don't forget.
Keep swimming!
